As we enter a new decade the division of ideas feels wider than before, and brings a sadness as unity seems distant. In moments when this sadness slips into fear I sit below this visage of our 16th president, finding comfort knowing he felt the same fears yet endured in hope. These are unsettling days of change, and simultaneously electrifying. The law of contrast gives me hope. Division precedes unity.
